Our coaches have decades of experience in the field of pregnancy and postpartum nutrition. They are passionate about using evidence-based education to improve prenatal, postpartum, and infant health.
Jovanka Ciares, She/Her
CHWC
Jovanka Ciares is a certified wellness expert, integrative herbalist, nutrition educator, and coach with over 10 years of experience working in the wellness world. She offers herbal medicine sessions, lectures and workshops in Spanish and English. Jovanka studied nutrition with bestselling author T. Colin Campbell, PhD, at his Center for Nutrition Studies (in partnership with Cornell University) and herbalism/plant medicine with Tieraona Low Dog, MD. Her latest book, Reclaiming Wellness, was released in April 2022. A native of Puerto Rico, Jovanka lives in Los Angeles with her partner and rescue cat, King Buddy Kitty.
Ameenah Francois, She/Her

Ameenah Francois is a certified health & nutrition coach with over 7 years of experience supporting the perinatal populations and over 19 years of experience supporting families of children with special needs. As a nutrition coach and health advocate, she uses her professional experiences in case management and coaching along with her extensive education in the areas of perinatal care, herbal medicine and integrative health to enhance every patient interaction at Mahmee. She currently lives in Temecula, California with her husband and four girls. When she is not coaching, she can be found gardening, raising butterflies or spending time with family.
